DIRECTOR’S DWELLING
A neglected Upper West Side apartment was gut renovated into a flowing, bright, modern family home. By eliminating traditional paths of circulation and opening the kitchen and middle bedroom to the living room, the feeling of space, light and airiness is maximized. Despite tight budget constraints, meticulously planned architectural interventions such as full-height doorways, horizontal reveals and saturated colored glass panels transform the ubiquitous New York City pre-war apartment.
